Here in Greece it is forbidden and the police stops individuals who want to do so. The next day all these trees are dead by fire and the trees on the other side of the road as well. I was there on the Eleni hill. You could stop it on the Platania – Laerma road, but not if you leave all trees standing and waiting for the fire.
